Intenet Music

How has the internet effected the music industry? How has the music industry effected the internet? This question can definitely be asked both ways. While yes, many people talk about how the internet has effected the music industry due to illegal downloading and piracy. But I believe that the music industry has effected the outcome of the internet. Who would have thought that the internet would be used so extensively for up and coming artists who wish to be discovered? Since the Internet's creation, music has become a big part of it. Youtube is a popular website for people to post videos, and now it has become a platform for entertainers to perform for an immensely large audience. In recent years, youtube stars have transitioned to hollywood stars. This blog will discuss those celebrities, how they became famous, and regular people trying to become famous via the internet.

Introduction

Hello bloggers! My name is Chris Cunningham and I am a sophomore Communication Studies major and ASL/Media Studies double minor at UNCG. Following graduation, I plan to attend graduate school and receive a degree in higher education.

Although my plans for the future do not include it, music has always been a passion of mine. For six years I played trumpet and percussion in band, I acted in various plays and musicals for five years, and I was in chorus for seven years. I am currently a member of the UNCG Chariots, the co-ed a cappella singing group at UNCG. Singing has always been something I love, and a dream of mine is to one day be discovered and record an album. I think it is so interesting to see how singers and musicians have rapidly evolved over the past few decades, with thanks to the internet, it has become much more possible for someone like me, who doesnt have many connections, but just a dream to make it in the music industry.
